DEL Dance For Social Change: Protest, Embodied Liberation, And Radical Love

Sun Nov 8th, 0015 - 12:00AM

Why do I dance? Dance is my medicine. It’s the scream which eases for a while the terrible frustration common to all human beings who because of race, creed, or color, are ‘invisible’. Dance is the fist with which I fight the sickening ignorance of prejudice.” … Pearl Primus

Date: Nov 8 & 15, 2020
Time: 2-5pm
Pricing: $135
Instructors:Online Class with Clara Bello, MS, Kimani Fowlin, MFA, and Megan Minturn, MA, RYT

This course uses the words of Pearl Primus as an impetus to respond to, envision, and create a better world. Dance is utilized as a vehicle of connection and change as we work collectively for an embodied empathy and liberation. Through movement we work to dismantle prejudice in an acknowledgement of our shared humanity. We aim to journey together as artivists who inspire change through our artmaking. This course centers movement as a modality for expression and a fight for freedom.
