Emphasis is given to proper alignment, core integration, body awareness, biomechanics, and performance. The second level of this course expands the technical and artistic skills, as well as historical knowledge, gained in the first level through more complex vocabulary, choreography, style and presentation. The class is held on Tuesdays from 6:00PM to 8:45PM.

2)     POP DANCE: This course teaches dance vocabulary, patterns and shapes found in current day Hip-Hop and Pop cultures. This course will explore dance elements seen in today’s music videos, films, public places, and television. This course will also touch upon the historic development of a variety of dances that gained popularity in the United States since the beginning of the 20th century. Creativity will be encouraged in this course. The class is held on Wednesdays from 6:00PM to 8:45PM.

The successful candidate will contribute to the Dance Minor Program with expertise, skills, and teaching interest in at least four of the following areas:  Contemporary/Modern, Pop/Hip-Hop, Ballet, Jazz, Dance Composition, Performance, Production, Dance History, Cultural Dance, and Kinesiology/Anatomy.
