Thu Jun 10th, 2021 - 12:00AM

STARTING TOMORROW! 11am. jamee91 Instagram

“42 & GTBU” - Everyday Conversations Between Friends, will be on Instagram @jamee91, beginning at 11am EST (6pm Uganda).

Please join Wasswa Peter Sean aka Sisa Mc Muchocho Matattu, President and Founder of Grow to Build - Uganda and Jamee Schleifer, NYCDOE Hip Hop Dance Educator, at jamee91 for the next 42 days as they, along with other artist/teachers from Uganda, will be having informal conversations about everyday life there and how they will continue their work during the 42 days of lockdown in Uganda beginning Thursday, June 10th.

As an artist, teacher, and person with a vision to change the world one person at a time, Sean has been doing his hearts work.

GROW TO BUILD/Kulture Future Kids mission is to bring Hip Hop culture to communities in Uganda; to teach and develop skills, both mental and physical, through breaking and other creative art forms to children and promote positive social change. Hip Hop in Uganda has been opening doors for young people and helping to raise aspirations.

It is undeniable that Hip Hop, used as a tool for social change, has become a globally accepted culture. Beginning in The Bronx, New York City and making its way to the furthest corners of the earth, it incorporates a multitude of ethnicities/cultures that are supported by the culture’s core principals - Art, Dance, Music, Spoken Word, Knowledge and Entrepreneurship. This is especially true for GROW TO BUILD/Kulture Future Kids, a community based organization in Kampala who’s social initiative is to inspire the youth of Uganda by using Hip Hop's celebrated values and elements.
