New York's National Honor Society for Dance Arts proudly presents this amazing opportunity for our honor society middle & high school students as well as those interested in starting a chapter. Our goal is to meet, dance and connect with our chapters and potential chapters across the state of New York. We look forward to dancing with you!

House-Party and Fundamentals taught by Veronica Cheeseboro
Veronica Cheeseboro is an active dancer, choreographer and educator. In 2016, she obtained a BFA in dance at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. In May 2018, she graduated from the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University with an EdM degree in Dance Education with a K-12 certification. Post graduation, her choreography has been shown and adjudicated at Nimbus Dance works OFFLINE Choreographer Series, Trevor Project At Dixon Place and BABEL Dance Company’s concert. An active dancer, Veronica was a member of Modarts Dance Collective from 2018-2023. She also has performed in the commercial world in various Hip Hop crews and freelance commercial work. Recently she has performed the work of Earl Mosley in January and April at Ailey Citigroup Theater. She is a DOE high school dance teacher in the Bronx for 8 years and counting. Her work with her students has been featured in Radio City Music Hall, Tweed Courthouse and various Bronx Borough Arts festivals at Lehman College.Her dance program in the DOE is partnered with Ailey Arts in Education, Ballet Hispanico Community Arts Partnership, Merce Cunningham Trust and Paul Taylor. In the professional leadership realm, Veronica has hosted intervisitations, facilitated city wide PDs and workshops for the OASP, taught lectures at Rutgers University and Broadway Dance Center. Veronica served as a CAN arts facilitator for the Bronx districts in 2023-2024. For school year 2024-2025, she is an award winner as a Big Apple Teaching Fellow for excellence in dance education. Most recently as a dancer she worked with Earl Mosley’s Diversity of Dance -AscenDANCE program and performed the works of Earl Mosley and Robert Reddick. Currently Veronica is a Masters of Science candidate in Educational Leadership at Hunter College. She aspires to continue to teach, perform and choreograph simultaneously within the professional realm.

Whack, Punk, Pose: a disco era dance taught by David Cartahena Lee
David Cartahena Lee is a Brooklyn-based choreographer, educator, and artistic director of Samaw Dance; an AAPI-led company currently touring in 2026. He is the creator of Resonance, a sold-out annual immersive performance experience at Roulette, and the Diffraction Dance Festival at Mark Morris Dance Center. His choreography draws from waacking, contemporary, and street dance forms, has taught all over the US, and internationally in South Korea and the Philippines. David holds an MA in Dance Education from NYU and is an adjunct professor at NYU and Queens College and is the Advocacy Director for NYSDEA.
