How can we pivot our presentation of students’ work from stage to screen in remote learning environments? Dance film!
Creating dance on film is a vibrant way of sharing work and creating engaging experiences while teaching remotely. In this 3-session workshop we will explore options for devising movement specifically designed for the camera. Combining the DEL Model of dance making with film techniques, this workshop will culminate in each person making a short dance film. We will explore site- specific movement generation for non-traditional dance spaces (hallways! kitchens! stoops!), basic camera motion and editing techniques, and other filmmaking processes that can be incorporated into the virtual classroom.
This program is taking place remotely. If you have signed up, you will receive an email with details of how to access the program. If we are able to offer an in-person version of this class in the coming months, we will contact you and make both options available to you.
