New Doctoral Study Fellowship

 

Are you considering doctoral study? The Dance Education Program at Teachers College, Columbia University, announces a newly appointed doctoral study fellowship for an incoming student, starting in the academic year 2022-2023 and continuing through academic years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. This highly competitive fellowship includes full-time tuition remission for in-person enrollment and an opportunity to work as an Administrative Fellow with faculty, staff, and Arnhold Institute Research Fellows. 

 

Eligibility for the Doctoral Fellowship is limited to new applicants to the Doctoral Program in Dance Education. Qualified applicants for the doctoral program will have earned a degree in dance at the undergraduate or graduate level, completed a master’s degree (MA, MFA, MAT, EdM, etc.), and will have significant experience in serving, teaching, leading, and administering programs in PK-12, post-secondary, cultural or community-based contexts. All applicants who apply to the doctoral degree program in Dance Education by April 1, 2022, will be considered for the Doctoral Fellowship.

The Doctoral Program in Dance Education views dance as an essential form of embodied experience through which people imagine and create, shape identity, and understand cultures, teach, learn, research, and communicate meaning about diverse human experiences. Our doctoral program dovetails with the Arnhold Institute for Dance Education Research, Policy, and Leadership which serves as a core training ground for doctoral students, providing opportunities to research and connect with faculty, research fellows, and affiliated global scholars.
